A lot of people who really need to lose some weight spend far too much of their time on the sofa dreaming about how they will do it without ever actually getting off their lazy behind and bringing all those dreams into reality! The fact of the matter is that dreaming about losing weight ain’t gonna cut it! You really do have to take action if you want to see results and that’s often the sticking point for many.
Yet it need not be that way. Sure you can start a diet and you will lose some weight that way, but unless you commit to getting active as well, your chances of keeping the weight off that you lost are not so great. its one of the basic tips for weight loss that you need to get active and get your muscles working to really be sure of maintaining a healthy body weight in the long term.
Running for Weight Loss
There are a number of exercises that you can do to help with your weight loss efforts from swimming to going to the gym, but if you want to do it without any apparatus or the need to visit a sports center, then one of the more effective ways is running. I mean running around the streets or around a park if you have one nearby. It doesn’t have to be like you’re training to run a marathon, either. Just enough to make you feel like you have done something worthwhile, where you can do rather more than just relax and lose weight.
If you haven’t trained for a while, you should start slow and only run a short distance. Then gradually increase the distance each day until you have reached a really useful run that has taxed your muscles and made you out of breath and covered in sweat! That’s how you know you’ve worked hard enough to earn a pat on the back! Then you can do it all again tomorrow in the happy knowledge that you are working for your health as well as for a better, slimmer figure!
