How Are Infrared Body Wraps Supposed To Work?

I know that a lot of people are looking for a quick solution to make themselves look better every now and then, and honestly who can blame them – todays society is based around the fact that strong and good looking people triumph, and people who are ugly, out of shape and stupid never seem to make huge victories in life. Unfortunately that is the fact here and it is never going to change. Some thing that you can you in your advantage in changing your appearance to a more suitable one, is the infrared body wrap, that works by increasing the heat in a specific body part with infrared.

I spoke about the benefits of heat in weight loss in a previous post and I will not get in to full detail here, but basically you need to remember that when the air surrounding your body gets hot, your body will have to work extra hard to get rid of excess heat inside it to avoid proteins and enzymes from getting damages. These are very sensitive compounds, and if the temperature inside the body isn’t optimal they don’t work as they are supposed to. Also some serious damage can occur when the temperature goes too high, so there are multiple mechanisms that try to prevent this.

So since infrared light is basically heat it will work very efficiently in rising the temperature of our bodies, and it will not only warm up the skin, but it has been shown that an infrared body wrap can actually make the temperature in our body, two inches beneath the skin, rise, and this will activate some of the cooling mechanisms in the body.

First af all, each blood vein in that area will enlarge, this is called vasodilatation. This way the body both transfers cooler blood to the area, but also gets rid of the hot blood more efficiently. Also since this happens in the skin also, the heat is going to transfer more easily away to the surrounding air. If you are using a lot of clothes to prevent air from escaping the immediate presence of your body, excessive sweating will take place, and sweating burns a lot of calories.
